IDC002 | Living Architecture & Green Infrastructure: Landscape Leadership, Biomimicry & Climate-Resilient Cities

As cities confront the growing challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and rapid urbanisation, the future of the built environment depends on learning from nature rather than working against it. International Design Conversation 002 brings together internationally recognised leaders in landscape architecture, biomimicry, green infrastructure and urban ecology to explore how nature-inspired thinking can shape healthier, more resilient and regenerative cities.

IDC 001 | Living Architecture & Green Infrastructure: Buildings, Biodiversity & Nature-Integrated Design

As cities continue to expand and the impacts of climate change intensify, the integration of nature into the built environment has become one of the defining challenges—and opportunities—of contemporary design. From green roofs and living walls to biodiversity-positive buildings, urban forests and nature-based infrastructure, living architecture is reshaping how our cities perform environmentally, socially and economically.

PIEVC Protocol Training

The Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) invites you to participate in an upcoming virtual Public Infrastructure Engineering Vulnerability Committee (PIEVC) Protocol Training. The PIEVC Protocol provides a structured methodology for assessing the vulnerability of infrastructure to current and future climate conditions. Developed to support practitioners in assessing and addressing climate-related risks, the Protocol has been used on hundreds of infrastructure assets in Canada and globally to help improve resilience and support long-term decision-making.

Envision® ENV SP Credential Training

The Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) invites you to participate in our upcoming virtual Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) Training.

Sustainability & Resilience by Design

OPPI is pleased to invite you to join the experts from CanU in a hands-on one-day workshop. We will examine best practices, tools and technologies as well as urban design techniques that can be utilized in sustainable community building. Mitigation and adaptation strategies will be applied to actual urban and suburban sites currently under development. The goal is to provide a tool kit of ideas for your applied use.

Canada’s Urban Design Forum 2026

Great cities happen when we Capitalize Design.

Twenty years ago, the Council for Canadian Urbanism met in Ottawa to advance the national conversation on urban design by exploring the proximity, the mix, and the commons that can make Canadian cities work. This fall, facing new challenges and equipped with new energy, the Council returns to Ottawa to host Capitalizing Design: three days of collaboration, learning, and candid conversations.
