Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail, 12-5pm ($140 + tax, lunch included)The Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail and Boardwalk is the result of years of effort from community groups, First nations, and public and private sector landscape architects. Their goal was to develop safe, unobtrusive, and universal access to an ecologically unique wetland community, while protecting what is special about the landscape. University of Manitoba Campus Tour, 1-5pm ($50 + tax)Join the UofM Campus Planning team on a tour across the University’s Fort Garry campus! Learn about the history of the campus lands and the University’s vision to reconnect to the landscape, guided by Indigenous Planning and Design Principles and strategies for Forestry Management and Climate Action. On this tour you will visit recent achievements in the development of the campus including ecologically sustainable garden spaces, the future site of the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, and Southwood Circle. Southwood Circle will grow and transform the University of Manitoba campus into a world-leading “UniverCity” where 65,000 people will live, work, study and/or play. It will be Manitoba’s first complete campus community and the largest residential mixed-use infill project ever embarked on in Winnipeg. |

Winnipeg Architecture Foundation Tyndall Tour, 3:30-5pm ($40 + tax)Tyndall stone is a fossil-rich limestone that formed 450 million years ago in a shallow sea near the equator. Quarries near Garson, Manitoba have been the only source processing the stone as building material for the last 120 years. Learn about Tyndall stone's geology, how to spot and identify fossils, and about the stone's use and relationship to people in the region over the last 3000 years. Tyndall Stone has recently been designated as a global heritage stone resource by a subcommission of the International Union of Geological Sciences.This is the first Canadian designation. The tour will be led by Abigail Auld, who is currently writing a book about Tyndall stone. |

Legislative Grounds Walking Tour, 3:45-5pm ($50 + tax)Begin with a 10 minute walk to the Legislative Building to explore some of Manitoba’s rich history on the grounds. Visit the beloved “Golden Boy”, who is perched atop, the Commemorative Fountain and Louis Riel Plaza with the large sculpture of Manitoba’s “Father of Confederation” on the south side and the gardens. The vision of the future master plan for the grounds will be introduced before moving into the Legislative Building. We will uncover trails of occult clues concealed in the building’s architecture including: hidden hieroglyphic inscriptions, numerological codes, and Freemasonic symbols so intelligently masked it has escaped historians and visitors for nearly a hundred years! The interior tour is one of a kind and will reveal hidden details within the architecture of the Legislative Building with a few unlocked mysteries along the way. Government issued-ID will be required to enter the building, and you will be required to pass through a metal detector. |
