shuttle busStep on board the Batoche Shuttle, a shiny white open-sided ride at a time on a trip of discovery around Batoche. Ride over to the East Village where Louis Riel’s provisional government of Saskatchewan was headquartered. Feel more connected to the recent past of this Métis settlement on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. Along the way enjoy the scenic views on both sides of the green prairies sprigged with wildflowers and the trembling aspen forest.

Meewasin Valley Bike Tour, $60 (includes bicycle rental) (ticketed event) Lobby

Starting from the Meewasin office and led by Meewasin staff, this tour head along the Meewasin trail / Trans Canada Trail through several Meewasin sites including River Landing, the SW Trail (recent conversion of roadway to trail), Gabriel Dumont Park (naturalized park developed on a former dump site), Rotary Park and Kiwanis Memorial Park (downtown trail enhancements underway). Learn about Meewasin, the river valley, and stretch your legs along some of the busiest Meewasin Valley trails.

Northeast Swale Walking Tour by Keynote Speaker Candace Savage, $60 (includes transportation) (ticketed event) Lobby

Join our virtual keynote speaker Candace Savage (from Wild About Saskatoon) and co-host Joseph Naytowhow as they lead a tour of the Northeast Swale. The swale is an assortment of incredibly valuable wetlands and native prairie, on an ancient river bed.

Join this walking tour with folks involved in the planning and development of the River Landing riverfront, a significant project that has transformed Saskatoon’s south downtown and been a catalyst for adjacent development.

Meewasin Valley Walking Tour 2 – Kinsmen Waterfront, $30 (ticketed event) Lobby

Kinsmen Park and the adjacent riverfront area have undergone many changes throughout Saskatoon’s short history. It is now one of the busiest sections of the Meewasin Trail, with many actively programed spaces such as Shakespeare On The Saskatchewan, Nutrien Wonderhub, and The Prairie Lily. Join Meewasin staff and other experts as we explore and discuss the Kinsmen Riverfront area and the changes that have taken place over time, including the most recent developments from the Shakespeare site to the Nutrien Wonderhub, including parking lot, trail, landscape and amenity enhancements.

Downtown Saskatoon Walking Tour, $30 (ticketed event) Lobby

This Jane’s Walk is an approximately 30 to 40 minute walk in downtown Saskatoon that visits four military memorials. It begins at Saskatoon City Hall and finishes at the Vimy Memorial Bandshell in Kiwanis Park.

The two-hour Downtown YXE tour will take you on an exciting ride into the heart of Saskatoon. The tour showcases beautiful architecture of the downtown region along with stretches where guests get to pedal along the river! The tour will stop at two of Saskatoon’s most valued pubs. Beaver Creek Pollinator Walk, $55 (ticketed event) Lobby

It is a time to raise awareness for pollinators and spread the word about what we can do to protect them. To celebrate this wonderful initiative, Meewasin interpretive staff will lead you on a pollinator walk through the Beaver Creek site interpretive centre and trails. Meewasin Valley Walking Tour 3 – River Landing, $30 (ticketed event) Lobby

There are over 105 km of Meewasin trail in Saskatoon and the busiest sections run through the downtown. Starting from the Meewasin office and led by Meewasin staff and other experts, this walking tour provides an overview of the Meewasin mandate and tour of the downtown riverfront, where trail enhancements are now underway with multiple phases planned in the future, including the City’s plans for a permanent outdoor festival site.

Restoring 71 Natural Area and Trails, $40 (ticketed event) Lobby

Restoring 71The Restoring 71 Project aims to capture the beauty of the prairie landscape as we restore crop and hay land to naturally occurring habitat supportive of native plant and wildlife species. The Restoring 71 Project is a landowner driven and funded initiative owned and operated by Aaron and Katie Suek. The goals of the project include conserving naturally occurring prairie habitat features and protecting native species, restoring native plant species to encourage biodiversity, and providing educational and experiential opportunities for members of the public to reconnect with nature and learn more about the project and all the wonders the prairie has to offer.
