The CSLA recognizes excellence in all aspects of the profession through its honors and awards programs which also promote awareness of landscape architecture as a profession professionally, academically, in communities, and to acknowledge the work of its members within the profession.

Governor General's Medal in Landscape Architecture

The Governor General's Medal in Landscape Architecture is  the highest honor bestowed on a landscape architect by the CSLA. The medal is intended to honor exceptional landscape architects whose lifetime achievements and contributions to the profession have had a unique and lasting impact on Canadian society.

Recognition Awards

CSLA's Recognition Awards include the Schwabenbauer President's Award for Service to the CSLA, the Community Service Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Teaching Award, and the Emerging Professional Award.

College of Fellows

Induction to the College of Fellows is one of the highest honors the Society bestows on its members.  The College aims to recognize achievement, promote the high quality of the profession, mentor other professionals and work for the benefit of the community.

National Urban Design Awards

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects in cooperation with Canadian municipalities, wish to promote public and private awareness of that role. For this reason, an Urban Design Awards program has been established to recognize individuals, organizations, firms and projects that have contributed to the quality of life in our Canadian cities and their sustainability.
