The Master Plan for Sainte-Thérèse Island aims to create a metropolitan park as part of the recreational and ecological network of Greater Montreal’s green and blue network. In a context of climate change and the need for a paradigm shift, the plan aims to promote accessibility, protection and enhancement of this exceptional island located in an urbanized region.
The plan proposes innovative solutions for transforming Sainte-Thérèse Island into a park that combines recreational activities, agrotourism and ecotourism. Scenic trails will allow visitors to discover a wide range of natural environments and connect with the river, while observation towers, belvederes and contemplation areas will offer exceptional views. The future parks will include new recreational and tourist activities, while recognizing the elements that make up the island's identity. The programming will allow visitors to enjoy the island during the summer and winter seasons.
