The landscape architect was able to use his knowledge and initiative in order to transform this site shunned by many professionals for its many challenges be it on the technical side, the urban context of the disadvantaged area where it lies or with the overall lack of budget available.
Our leadership amongst the many stakeholders helped to create a true living environment thus materializing the clients’ vision while navigating through the many site constraints and keeping the project on time and on budget.
With the use of non-conventional stormwater strategies promoting on site infiltration of approximately 120 m3 and no need to connect to the city network, the innovative concept has solved the garage flooding issues and overall problems common in this urban areas.
With a striking before-after transformation, this project promotes our practice to the full extent of our abilities in urban planning and management of stormwater runoff to the benefit of the public and all partners involved.
By going beyond the technical issues that needed to be addressed we helped create a new center in the community, adding social and environmental value to a project that has already been adopted by the residents.
