Victor Ford and Associates Inc spearheaded the process that rejuvenated Pickering’s waterfront. Involvement included public visioning, conceptual planning, co-ordination of sub-consultants, obtaining funding, detailed design, tendering and construction contract management. Millennium Square and the associated boardwalk and improvements to Liverpool Road are the centerpiece in the regeneration of Pickering’s Waterfront including an exciting, high profile, 7.34 km link to the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail. The 20 acre site includes a large urban plaza incorporating seating, extensive areas of new paving and streetscapes, a kinetic sculpture, children’s water play area, washrooms, naturalization plantings, parking and boardwalk.
