The challenge was considerable: shoring up the Cap-Rouge cliff in order to protect the archaeological remains of North America’s first French colony. But the Cartier-Roberval memorial wall is much more than a feat of engineering; it is an innovative reconstruction and renovation project that fits perfectly into its distinctive setting. It is truly a work of art that commemorates the history of this unique place.
This one-of-a-kind project was carried out by the Commission de la capital nationale du Québec (CCNQ) and PLANIA/DESSAU/LVM.
