The Bow RiverWalk opened up two kilometers of Calgary's eastern downtown waterfront encouraging renewed interest in the natural assets of the river - unveiling an abundance of pedestrian and cyclist experiences - and linking future redevelopment opportunities with the greater regional Bow River pathway system. Bow RiverWalk has become a catalyst for the revitalization of Calgary's East Village, a previously derelict district of the city. It is the first half of the significant implementation phase of the RiverWalk Master Plan developed by Stantec Consulting's Calgary office. This ambitious project has captured public and private interests and has engaged the community in the rehabilitation of the entire district.
