Play for us is all about discovery and learning. Play is also about challenge, testing one’s boundaries and having fun in doing so! John Lawson Park Playground and Splash Pad encourages children to discover and explore elements of their natural environment that change with the seasons, while continually offering instinctive, spontaneous and challenging opportunities to share and learn together in a safe, open play environment. The variety of play apparatus, their custom designs and theming; the range of ages being serviced; the incorporation of “literacy in the environment” (LITE); the collaborative and cooperative elements of the park are all aspects which have been completely integrated on this site. We transformed a previously, tired local playground into one of the Lower Mainland’s pre-eminent destination play spaces and water parks-it’s become the new “place to meet” on the water in West Vancouver.
